FAQ's

''What's the difference between companionship and care services?''

While care services focus on personal care and medical needs, our companionship service provides social support, assistance with daily tasks, and meaningful engagement. We don't provide personal care or medical assistance, but we can help with everything from shopping to attending events to technology support.

"How do you match companions with clients?"

We carefully consider personality, interests, hobbies, and schedule preferences to ensure the best possible match. We arrange an initial meeting to ensure both parties feel comfortable before beginning regular visits.

''What if my regular companion is unavailable?"

We understand the importance of consistency, but when your regular companion is on holiday or unwell, we provide a carefully selected replacement who has been fully briefed on your preferences and requirements.

"Do you have minimum or maximum visit durations?"

Our minimum visit is typically 1 hour, but we're flexible and can arrange anything from short regular visits to full-day companionship. We work with you to create a schedule that best suits your needs.

"What training do your companions receive, especially regarding dementia?"

All our companions undergo comprehensive training including early-stage dementia awareness and safeguarding. We regularly update our training to ensure the highest standards of service. Additionally, many of our companions have previously worked as carers, meaning they have knowledge and experience in first aid and mobility handling.

"Can companions drive clients in their own car or the client's car?"

Yes, our companions can drive their own vehicle and are insured to do so with their clients. This enables trips to appointments, social events, or simply getting out and about.

"What happens if there's an emergency during a visit?"

All companions are trained in emergency procedures and carry mobile phones. They have emergency contact numbers and clear protocols to follow. While we don't provide medical care, we ensure emergency services or family members are contacted immediately if needed.

"Can we change our schedule or requirements as needs change?"

Absolutely! We understand that needs can change over time. We regularly review our service with clients and families, and can adjust visit frequency, duration, or support type as required. Our service is completely flexible to meet your evolving needs.

What clients are saying

Holly - Daughter

Finding Time for Tea Companions has been been a huge relief for my sisters and I. Living 2 1/2 hours away makes it difficult for me to help mum with her day to day needs. Rebecca and Abby have been fabulous. They offer great company and also help mum get to appointments and to the supermarket and are always proactively offering their help so that mum has everything she needs and more. Thank You!

Mark - Son

Amazing work, absolutely delighted with Time for Tea. Thank you.

Jane - Daughter

Rebecca has a wonderful rapport with all ages but she has a particular connection with older people. She was such a great help with my Mum, allowing me to go away knowing she had a friend visiting who would help out & make sure she was ok.

Conversation with Rebecca flows so easily, right from the onset, with her soon becoming a dear friend who is a joy to spend time with.
