📄 Terms & Conditions – Time for Tea Companions Ltd.
Effective Date: 1st February 2026
🫖 A Warm Welcome
Thank you for considering Time for Tea Companions Ltd. We’re a professional, friendly companionship service offering social engagement and emotional support — not personal care or medical assistance.
These Terms & Conditions explain how our service works, what’s included, what to expect, and how we work together to make each visit safe and enjoyable for your loved ones.
1. About Our Service
Time for Tea Companions Ltd provides professional companionship services, both in person and remotely (via phone or video). Our companions are recruited, vetted, and trained with great care to provide a warm, safe, and reliable service.
Important: We are not a registered care provider and do not deliver personal care, medical services, or clinical monitoring.
2. Who Can Use Our Service
We support adults who benefit from regular social interaction, company, and conversation. Family members or advocates can arrange the service on behalf of the user. While we welcome those with early-stage dementia, we do not provide specialist dementia or mental health care.
To ensure we can safely provide support:
-
Clients must be over 18
-
Must not require personal or medical care
-
Must be in an environment supportive of non-clinical companionship
3. Companion Safety & Training
Your peace of mind is our priority. All companions:
-
Hold an Enhanced DBS certificate
-
Receive training in safeguarding practices
-
Are trained to support those with early-stage dementia
-
Operate according to professional guidelines set out by us
We also provide ongoing oversight to ensure quality and safety.
4. Bookings & Payments
-
All sessions must be pre-booked and are subject to availability.
-
Fees are clearly outlined before booking, and payment is due in advance unless otherwise agreed.
-
We accept payment via bank transfer.
Charges may vary slightly depending on the service type (e.g., telephone versus in-person) and travel requirements.
5. Cancellations & Refunds
We understand that plans can change. Where possible:
-
Please provide at least 24 hours’ notice for cancellations.
-
Cancellations made with less than 24 hours’ notice may not be eligible for a refund.
-
If we must cancel a session at short notice (e.g., companion illness), you’ll be given the option to reschedule or receive a full refund for that session.
6. What’s Expected from You (and Your Loved One)
To ensure a safe and enjoyable visit, we ask that:
-
The client is well enough to engage socially
-
The client or advocate shares any known risks or health issues with us beforehand
-
The home environment is safe and appropriate for a visit
-
Any animals on the premises are well-controlled
We also ask that companions are treated with kindness and respect — they’re here to offer warmth, not clinical care.
7. Privacy & Confidentiality
We treat all personal information in line with our Privacy Policy and UK GDPR rules. Companion conversations remain confidential unless safety concerns arise, in which case we follow safeguarding procedures.
8. Limitation of Liability
While we work hard to ensure consistency and safety:
-
We are not liable for care-related issues, health deterioration, or emergencies outside the scope of our service.
-
We do not offer medical advice or supervision.
If any incident or complaint arises, we investigate promptly according to our Complaints Policy.
9. Disputes & Questions
Most concerns can be resolved quickly by contacting us. If a formal complaint is needed, please refer to our Complaints Policy.
